The grand finale of our barbecue series today comes with a refreshing drink: a homemade mango ice tea! The sweetness of the mango, the tart taste of the green tea and the acidity of the lime result in an incredibly refreshing taste experience! Here is the recipe:
This is required:
* 2 ripe mangoes
* 50g sugar
* 3 teabags of green tea
* 2 limes
* a handful of mint leaves
* Mint Leaves
* ice cubes
* 1l of water
Here's how:
Step 1: Boil water and pour into a carafe with the tea. Steep the tea bag according to the instructions on the packet.
Step 2: Remove the pulp from the mango, puree and sieve at least once so that it becomes as fine and smooth as possible.
Step 3: Slice 1 ½ limes.
Step 4: Pluck and wash the mint.
Step 5: Put the juice in a saucepan and boil with half the sugar until the sugar has dissolved. Add the rest of the sugar and add the juice of half a lime.
Step 6: Add lime slices, ice cubes and mint leaves to the tea. Pour in the mango syrup. Stir well and serve ice cold!
TIP
The recipe is the basis for many different types of iced tea! Simply exchange the fruit and you can enjoy delicious raspberry or peach ice tea, for example.
